Week of 1/29
1/29 through 1/31
I remain down from something between cold and flu. Not a good time to be out, but maybe this will serve as an okay taper to the state meet. I have been making good progress to date. 280 for doubles on squat makes me confident about hitting 300, 390 on the deadlift makes me confident on 400, and getting the 245 for a touch and go on the bench tells me I can PR at the meet on that.

2/2, Gym, 5:30 a.m.
Back at last!
The idea today is to work up to my meet openers for both the squat and the bench.
Mission accomplished with no fanfare. I worked up to 265 twice on the squat, and handled a ten-second walkout of 315. Then I went immediately and quickly through progressions to a bench of 195. No muss. No fuss.
And that's the good news. Now, I may be sore tomorrow since it's been a week between squats; that's what usually happens to me. But the good news still stands. The openers were easy to hit.
